Description

The WFX DISTRICT WP is an innovative concept in terms of construction and thermal insulation, designed to keep your hands warm in winter, and to be worn under your jacket or blouson. Most winter gloves have always been built the same way... To put it simply: thick, dense thermal insulation on the top of the hand, and thinner insulation in the palm extending up to the fingertips. This is the weak point of this traditional construction. The cold eventually penetrates through the forks (as the area between the fingers is called).

FIVE rethinks the fundamentals of thermal insulation by adopting a new construction christened THERMO+™, offering up to 20% thermal gain, based on PRIMALOFT® insulation, the top in the field. The concept is quite simple: the thick insulation at the top flows down to the fingertips, while the thinner insulation is contained at the (flat) base of the palm and fingers. This means that all other elements of the glove, such as the external structure and the waterproof membrane, have to be reconsidered in order to maintain perfect flexibility and a good grip on the handlebars. It's when riding in the cold that the full benefit of Thermo+™ construction becomes apparent. The thicker, denser insulation in the forks provides a far more effective thermal barrier, and helps preserve the hand's natural warmth in the glove, for longer.

Beyond this innovation the WFX DISTRICT WP stands out for its composition combining supple full-grain leather palm, upper structure in water-repellent Softshell fabric, and ribbed cuff aimed at preserving heat inside the glove. Flexible and comfortable, it features all the elements common to FIVE gloves, with its waterproof-breathable 5_Drytech™ membrane, ERGO PROTECH® shells, Touch Screen™ or Clear Vision Pad™ system.

The WFX DISTRICT WP is aimed at those who are convinced by the concept of the ribbed cuff (which has proved its worth in insulating against the cold), and are looking for a discreet, high-performance glove to face up to the dangers of the city, accentuated by the rigors of winter.
