To put it simply: thick, dense thermal insulation on the top of the hand, and thinner insulation in the palm extending up to the fingertips. This is the weak point of this traditional construction. Cold eventually penetrates through the forks (as the area between the fingers is called). FIVE has rethought the fundamentals of thermal insulation by adopting a new construction dubbed THERMO+™, offering up to 20% thermal gain. The concept is simple enough: the thick insulation at the top flows back down to the fingertips, while the thinner insulation is contained at the (flat) base of the palm and fingers. This means reconsidering all the other elements of the glove, in order to maintain perfect flexibility and a good grip on the handlebars.

It's when riding in the cold that the full benefit of THERMO+™ construction becomes apparent. The thicker, denser insulation in the forks provides a far more effective thermal barrier, and helps preserve the hand's natural warmth in the glove, for longer.

The design of this premium winter glove exudes modernity. The adoption of state-of-the-art materials, such as the Soft Shell structure, the GORE-TEX® Grip™ membrane integral to the palm or the ultra-high-performance Primaloft® Gold hydrophobic thermal insulation, has resulted in a glove that is both waterproof and warm without being engonçant. It offers outstanding control sensitivity and exceptional dynamic and thermal qualities, enabling you to face the elements and the cold without apprehension.

However, as the risk of falling to the ground in winter is as great as the drop in temperature, the WFX Prime Evo GTX is equipped with premium protection elements: a one-piece FIVE ERGO PROTECH® shell and a large panel in SuperFabric®, an ultra-resistant fabric incorporating epoxy resin micro-beads; visible at the thenar eminence and concealed under leather at the hypothenar. And, new to this EVO version, an ERGO PROTECH palm protection shell in soft TPR.
