Choosing the right glove size
To help you choose the right size of FIVE gloves, here is a clear guide on how to measure your hand correctly, as well as some specific tips to help you avoid making a mistake with the size.
1/ Equipment and preparation
- Take a flexible tape measure (sewing type) or, if you don't have one, a piece of string/twine that you can then measure with a ruler.
- Use your dominant hand (the hand you use most) for measuring.
- Ensure your hand is relaxed, fingers slightly closed (but not clenched), for an accurate measurement.
2/ Measures to be taken
Here are the two main steps you should take:
Hand size (circumference)
- Place the tape around the palm, at the knuckles (just below the finger joints, excluding the thumb)—this is the widest part of the hand.
- Hold the tape without compressing it, just resting comfortably.
- Note the measurement (in centimeters or inches)
The length of the hand
- Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of your palm (where your hand meets your wrist). This measurement will help you determine whether your fingers are longer or shorter, which can affect the ideal size.
3/ Refer to the FIVE GLOVES size chart.
If you are between sizes, in the case of leather gloves or technical gloves (motorcycle): opting for the larger size may be more comfortable than choosing a size that is too tight (and may be too restrictive).

4/ Specific advice
motorcycle gloves motorcycle fit snugly to maintain sensitivity, but not too tightly as this can restrict movement, reduce circulation, or tire the hand.
After testing, check that your fingers do not touch the inside edge of the glove when you close your fist.
The material (leather, fabric, lining) will influence the fit: leather may stretch slightly after use, so it is better to choose a slightly snug fit rather than one that is too loose.
If the glove has a thick lining or internal protection (shells, inserts), this may slightly reduce the usable space—take this into account.
What you need to know about the fit of FIVE gloves...
Because we don't expect the same fit from a glove designed for competition as we do from a glove designed for everyday city use or a glove designed to keep your hands warm in winter, FIVE approaches the construction of its gloves according to three types of cuts, with varying degrees of fit.
The glove fits snugly to the hand to enhance performance and precision when riding. It may require a little effort to put on and take off.
The glove offers a standard fit to prioritize comfort and practicality when putting on and taking off, for optimal riding sensations.
The glove offers a relatively loose fit, prioritizing comfort and thermal regulation inside the glove.
