In principle, a heated glove is a winter glove to which a circuit of electrical resistors has been added, powered by individual batteries, either placed inside the gloves or connected directly to the motorcycle.
The goal is to produce artificial heat that delays the sensation of cold that eventually sets in when riding a motorcycle winter. However, integrating these electrical circuits requires special design and expertise.
Our HG technology incorporates strategically placed 1.3 mm cross-section resistors (in other words, electrical wires) on the top of the hand and fingers, extending to the inside of the last phalanx. This construction provides even heat where cold stress is greatest, without compromising the tactility of the palm.
In fact, there are no electrical resistors inside the palm so as not to interfere with the grip on the controls, but we do insert a thin layer of thermal insulation. The heated grips found on some motorcycles, which heat the inside of the palm, are a good complement to heated gloves, which warm the areas most exposed to the cold, namely the back of the hand and the fingertips.
However, there is a significant difference between the temperature sent to the resistors and the temperature that the driver will feel while driving.
The latter depends on external factors such as driving speed, outside temperature, wind, journey length and exposure time to the cold, individual sensitivity to cold, etc. The driver can therefore adjust the desired heating level according to these different parameters. Our system offers three heating levels: Eco, Regular, and Boost. Each sends heat of 45°C, 50°C, or 60°C into the circuit to keep the hands at a comfortable temperature. The goal is not to feel excessive heat, but simply to avoid having cold hands during the journey.
In Eco mode, battery life lasts up to 6 hours. In Boost mode, which consumes more energy, battery life is reduced to approximately 2 hours. Battery life varies depending on various factors (actual battery charge level, temperature, humidity, etc.).
Our new HG technology now has a second cable in the battery pocket.
To connect the gloves to the AC charger or our motorcycle connection kit. The batteries can then be recharged while heating the gloves. The 7.2 V, 2.2 Ah batteries can be fully charged in just 4 hours using the dual charger provided. They can remain in their pocket inside the glove while charging.
When you ride, the temperature drops as your speed increases. This is called wind chill. At 90 km/h and an outside temperature of 10°C, you will quickly feel a negative temperature if you are not wearing the right equipment. That's why heated gloves, especially FIVE HG gloves, are becoming so popular for motorcycle riding.

DUAL CONTROL, the most convenient and secure way to control your heated gloves
The new DUAL CONTROL system developed by FIVE aims to make starting up and adjusting your HG heated gloves easier and safer than ever before.
Based on the principle that the less you let go of the handlebars and controls, the safer your ride, we have designed a system that allows you to control the heating and adjustment of both gloves while keeping your right hand on the handlebars at all times: on the throttle grip and front brake, which are essential for controlling your motorcycle.
Located on the cuff or on the top of the right hand, depending on the model, the DUAL CONTROL button allows you to activate the heating in your gloves with a simple press of your left index finger, and to adjust the power to three different levels by pressing it repeatedly. The two gloves are connected via electromagnetic waves.
The LED display on the left glove shows the three available heat settings and the one currently selected, while the LED battery level display on each glove shows the remaining power in each glove.
