In principle, a heated glove is a winter glove to which we've added a circuit of electric resistors powered by individual batteries, placed inside the gloves or directly connected to the motorcycle.
The aim is to produce artificial heat to delay the sensation of cold that ends up in the hands when riding a motorcycle in winter. But integrating these electrical circuits requires special design and expertise.
Our HG technology integrates 1.3 mm cross-section resistors (in other words: electrical wires), strategically placed across the top of the hand and fingers, ending on the inside of the last phalanx. This construction provides even warmth where cold stresses are greatest, without compromising the tactility of the palm.
In fact, we don't place electric resistors inside the palm so as not to impede the grip of the controls, but we do insert a thin layer of thermal insulation. The heated grips found on some motorcycles heat the inside of the palm, making them a good complement to heated gloves, which heat the areas most exposed to the cold, i.e. the back of the hand and fingertips.
But there's a major difference between the temperature sent through the resistors and the temperature the rider will feel when riding.
The latter depends on external factors such as driving speed, outside temperature, wind, length of journey and time of exposure to cold, individual sensitivity to cold, etc. The driver will therefore adapt the desired level of heating to these different parameters. The driver adapts the desired heating level to these different parameters. Our system offers 3 heating levels: Eco, Regular and Boost. Each sends heat of 45°C, 50°C or 60°C into the circuit, to keep the hand at a comfortable temperature. The aim is not to generate excessive heat, but simply to prevent your hands getting cold while you're on the move.
In Eco mode, battery life is up to 6 hours. In Boost mode, which consumes more energy, autonomy is reduced to around 2 hours. Autonomy varies according to various parameters (effective battery charge level, temperature, humidity, etc.).

To connect the gloves to the AC electric charger or to our motorcycle connection kit. The batteries can then be recharged while the gloves are heated. The 7.2 V, 2.2 Ah batteries can be fully charged in just 4 hours using the dual charger supplied. They can remain in their pocket inside the glove while charging.
As you drive, the temperature drops as speed increases. This is known as wind chill. At 90 km/h and an outside temperature of 10°C, you'll quickly feel the temperature drop if you're not wearing the right equipment. That's why heated gloves, and in particular FIVE HG, are becoming so popular for motorcycle riding in winter.

DUAL CONTROL, more convenient and safer control of your heated gloves
FIVE's new DUAL CONTROL system makes setting up and adjusting your HG heated gloves easier and safer than ever.
Based on the principle that the less you let go of the handlebars and controls, the safer the ride, we've designed a system that allows you to control the warm-up and adjustment of both gloves while keeping your right hand on the handlebars at all times: on the throttle and front brake, essential elements in motorcycle control.
The DUAL CONTROL button, located on the cuff or top of the right hand, depending on the model, activates glove heating with a simple press of the left index finger, and adjusts the power to three levels by successive presses. The two gloves are connected by electromagnetic waves.
The LED display on the left glove shows the 3 heat levels available and the heat level selected, while the LED battery level display on each hand shows the remaining battery capacity of each glove.
The simpler, safer FIVE Dual Control system keeps you focused on the road, with a constant grip on the handlebars. It takes our heating technology, and above all the rider's experience, to a new level of efficiency and comfort in winter conditions.
