KEVLAR®, the benchmark fiber for protection (cut and tear resistance), integrated into FIVE Racing gloves

Fall protection is central to the overall design of motorcycle gloves.

In its most athletic configuration on the racetrack, motorcycle racing motorcycle the particular characteristic that a fall can potentially cause the rider to slide at high speed for several meters on an extremely abrasive surface: asphalt. This type of fall can cause serious injuries, cuts, or severe burns to the skin.

That's why we equip our Racing gloves, designed for track riding and among the most exposed to this type of risk, with an extremely high-performance, resistant fiber to delay the effects of a long slide on an abrasive surface.

A fiber with a well-established reputation, created several decades ago by the globally recognized technology company DuPont™: Kevlar®.

We use this fiber, recognizable by its characteristic yellow weave, as an underlayer beneath the leather on the palm and edge of the hand, the areas most exposed in the event of a fall or slide on asphalt.

The DuPont™ Kevlar® fibers used in FIVE gloves are five times (perhaps not coincidentally) stronger than steel at the same weight, and have quickly become essential in protective clothing designed for motorcycle racing. It therefore makes sense to find them in our track gloves designed for professional riders and demanding amateurs.
