PrimaLoft® has built a leading international reputation by offering ultra-lightweight, hydrophobic insulation solutions found in the majority of cold-weather sports equipment (skiing, mountaineering, etc.) offered by leading brands, and found in jackets, pants, shoes, gloves and even sleeping bags.
The principle is quite simple: since air is the best thermal insulator, all you have to do is trap it to keep the body's natural heat around you, creating a thermal barrier against the cold.
That's exactly what PrimaLoft® fibers do. They come in the form of wadding, which can be likened to artificial "down". But unlike natural down, PrimaLoft® fibers are hydrophobic, so they seal out moisture. This makes a major contribution to preserving warmth around the body, and in the case of our gloves, the hand.
