Understanding the FIVE cycling glove collection
As a true two-wheeled specialist, FIVE has developed a full range of gloves, seeking to offer you a glove that’s perfect for YOUR type of cycling. Because you don’t wear the same kind of gloves for riding a road, gravel, MTB, or electric bike. Similarly, weather conditions, such as rain, cold, wind, and heat, can influence the type of gloves you choose.
Just as there are several kinds of bikes, our collection is organized by types (which we also call families, categories, or ranges).
We have five of them.

SHORTY ROAD
The ROAD category is for those who do road cycling , for the most part; some styles can be adapted for use on gravel.
With two sub-categories:
- ROAD PERFORMANCE: for those focused on performance, looking for a cycling glove that offers a second skin feel so they can become one with their bike.
- ROAD COMFORT: for those focused on comfort, looking for a cycling glove that reduces fatigue with its gel padding to absorb any vibrations you may feel through the handlebars.
MTB
The MTB category is for those who do dirt cycling, whether it’s off-road, hybrid, cross-country/XC, or downhill/DH cycling.
With two sub-categories:
- MTB HEAVY DUTY: for those who prefer to ride with a minimum of protection. These bike gloves are considered PPE (personal protective equipment) and are subject to certification tests.
- MTB ALL RIDE: for those who want light weight and ventilation in their cycling gloves.
BMX
The BMX category cycling gloves dedicated to competitive riding on BMX tracks. They are performance-oriented and include abrasion-resistant elements on the palm, so you can approach the compacted or concrete zones on modern tracks with total peace of mind.
These FIVE BMX gloves have been developed alongside Sylvain ANDRÉ, 2018 World Champion and 2024 Olympic Silver Medalist.
STREET URBAN
The STREET URBAN category includes our urban or electric-bike gloves designed for riding around the city. They feature elements for comfort and practicality, making your two-wheeled rides in urban or suburban traffic even more enjoyable.
Their aesthetic is inspired by urban fashion, which allows you to easily combine them with your everyday fashion looks.
FALL-WINTER
The FALL-WINTER category includes gloves designed for cycling when the weather takes a turn for the worse. They aim to reduce the impact of wind, rain, or cold and enhance cyclists’ comfort. They’re made for fans of both road cycling and off-road/mountain biking, depending on their features. When you try them on, you’ll want to have them, since they offer significant benefits in terms of comfort and ease when you’re riding in bad weather.
With two sub-categories:
- FALL-WINTER / EXTREME COLD WARM WATERPROOF: For these winter gloves, it’s all about protecting yourself from extreme cold. These gloves feature thermal insulation and a waterproof, breathable membrane. Their goal is to keep your hands warm and dry for as long as possible on long rides in the middle of winter, or when temperatures drop precipitously, as they do at high elevation, for example.
- FALL-WINTER / COLD WEATHER WINDPROOF / SHORT or LONG: These are mid-season cycling gloves that offer a barrier against moderately cold temperatures and wind. Our mid-season cycling gloves that feature long cuffs are made primarily for road use. The mid-season cycling gloves with short cuffs are better suited for off-road or mountain-biking. But each rider will choose the FIVE mid-season cycling glove that’s best for their specific preferences.
